I was at the zoo trying to take macro pictures and loved the way this star fish looked on the glass in the aquarium at the Omaha Henry Doorly ZooTime
Thankfully in the aquarium at the zoo it does not matter what time of day. This was taken on a beautiful afternoon in October of 2015.Lighting
The lighting in the aquarium is rough, its very dark except in the tanks. with everything having back lighting you have to be careful on the settings.Equipment
For this picture I used a Nikon D5200 with the 18-55 Kit lens with a macro lens adapter.Inspiration
I was taking pictures of anything small. when I saw the star fish I had to get a picture. I spent quite a few minutes taking pictures and this was the best on out of the bunch.Editing

I always have my Nikon D5200, a mini tripod, macro lens adapter, Nikon 18-55 kit lens and Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6. with this group of equipment I'm able to take advantage of nearly any situation.Feedback
With any macro photography you need to be very patient and breathe slowly. I do not know how many times I have lost a shot because I breathed at the wrong time. Any movement at all will ruin a good shot. Keep your eyes open and take note of all the small things. even normal size things take on a whole new dimension when you take a photo of them at the macro level.
