Behind The Lens

Location

I came upon this fellow as he was starting to build a new home for his family. At first, I kept my distance and limited my time in the area. Soon he became accustomed to me being there. This is one of several hundred shots taken of him and his family. They are an interesting bird to photograph and watch.

Time

I shot at various times of the day. The subject and the lighting determined when.

Lighting

I shot at various times of the day. Lighting and activity were my only concerns.

Equipment

I mostly used a Canon SX40 superzoom . Once in a while, I used a Rebel T5i

Inspiration

Nature

Editing

Very little processing required. Some saturation and contrast.

In my camera bag

My T5i and an SX40 are all I carry.

Feedback

Giving the animal its space is most important. Keeping them wild and not taming them ensures they will survive.
