You had to get up very early to get this shot...with no visitors in the site. Congratulations, it's beautiful.

Behind The Lens

Location

Machu Picchu, Peru

Time

Afternoon

Lighting

I was quite lucky to be there just as the sun came through the clouds and formed a beautiful spotlight on the ruins.

Equipment

Pansonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 - handheld

Inspiration

The shear awe of it.

Editing

Basic contrast, brightness, etc. I was curious about what this classic scene would look like in B&W. I think it helps to give it more of an ancient feel.

In my camera bag

I have now gone back to carrying 40 lbs. of equipment consisting of a Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-120mm, Nikkor 80-400mm, Nikkor 105mm Micro, and a Nikkor TC-20e teleconverter and a Fuji X-100 backup camera.
