This is an art installation which was set up at Woodhorn Colliery in Northumberland 12-9-15 - 1-11-15. It is from the installation 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' which featured at the Tower of London in the autumn of 2014. The Woodhorn installation features a smaller portion (but still several thousand) of the same handmade ceramic poppies. They cascade 55ft from the winding wheel of the Heapstead. Each poppy represents a life lost.

I love this, I was lucky enough to be in London and see the poppies in the moat at the Tower of London just after it opened and knew parts of it were to be saved and wondered where they were and how they were displayed. Thanks for posting this
