I captured this image in rural Victoria In Australia not far from my own rural property at Youanmite which is farming mainly cropping country.Time
Time of day this image was captured was just as the sun was setting going into evening.Lighting
I had been watching the clouds forming most of the afternoon and thought that it would be a lovely time to head out and capture the lovely late afternoon going into the sun setting light with also including sun rays, I did capture other images on this evening one of which is on my site here it amazing watching the weather change and quite quickly too and this creates such a atmosphere and feel and drama to images. The light at this time is amazing.Equipment
I had my trusty Canon 5D Mark 111 and 24-70 mm lens I have since then added a wide angle 16-35 mm lens one can never have to many lenses. and wide angle lenses are essential for landscape/seascape work .My 24 -70mm lens is a absolute wonderful lens I have been using for years now.Inspiration
My inspiration for creating this image was the formation of the every changing clouds and sky and I had been watching the sky most of the afternoon with a plan to go to this paddock with the hay bales and capture the above image. I wanted to draw the viewers eyes along the leading lines of the stubble towards the sun rays and sunsetting the sky was changing so quickly as this image and the other images I captured shows and nature and the weather is so fancinating one can only marvel at such events we are so fortuante to witness I do hope this image and all my work inspires and brings joy to those that view them.Editing
Not a lot of post production a little lift of the shadows in photoshop and ensuring there was no dust spots .In my camera bag
In my kit I have my loyal Canon 5D Mark 111 , Canon 6D Mark 11, Canon 5D Mark111. Canon 6D Mark 11 24-70 mm .EF USM 16-35 mm. 50mm 24-105 mm. 70-200 mm EF USM All brilliant canon lenses. Manfrotto Tripod, Shutter release cable, spare batteries/memory cards/cleaning gear/level/covers for cameras and bags/backpacks/notebooks spare clothes /and other essential gear when out walking and in the weather/phone ect.Feedback
My advice is have a plan think about the images you wish to create and the story you wish to tell as every image does have a story to tell follow the weather you could have a weather app on your phone think of the light light light and composition/percpective so important have you gear ready to go enjoy what you do be safe .
