This photo was taken in the back yard of our first home. With our first home, my husband and I wanted our first dog as well, and Archer was a great addition to the family.Time
This picture was probably taken around the afternoon in the summer. Indiana weather no matter what season it is, is unpredictable, so you have to work with what you're given, and work quickly!Lighting
There was nothing too special about the lighting, other than it was a nice summer day with some great sunshine. Archer happened to stay still for two seconds in just the right spot so that the sun was shining down on him. It really brought out his eye color and the details in his fur and whiskers.Equipment
The great thing about this photo is that I used the camera from my phone. If you've ever owned a husky, you know that you have to be quick if you're going to get a picture and since I usually have my phone with me, I whipped it out, and it happened to turn out great. He thought I was whipping out a treat, but it got him to stand still for those two seconds!Inspiration
Archer was a beautiful dog. Very fun and energetic. I was always trying to get good pictures of him and on a few rare occasions, I did! We no longer have him due to some life/work circumstances and I'm thrilled with the pictures I still have of him. He was a great first dog, first "child", and I love that I can go back and look at the memories.Editing
I didn't have to do any post-processing to the picture thanks to the great natural lighting at the time.In my camera bag
For this picture, I literally just used my cell phone camera. I like to use traditional cameras, but cell phone cameras, if you can find one with a good lens, can take some really good pictures. And a plus is almost a 100% of the time, I will always have that on me!Feedback
The only advice I can think of giving from this picture, is use natural lighting when you can! I didn't have to use my flash, I didn't even use an actual camera, and I didn't have to alter the picture in any way. The natural lighting at the time was just perfect and created that perfect picture for me.
