I took this photo near the Mara river, on the Tanzanian sideTime
This crossing happend in the morning, 10 a.m.Lighting
I was lucky with place which animals chose - with the dust and high cliff. That what makes light great.Equipment
This was Nikon 4D with Nikkor 70-200mm plus converter x2, that's it.Inspiration
I wished to see crossing though the Mara river since i knew about that sights. That was my first time near the Mara.Editing
Sure, i did. Some work with colours, contrast, cropping. But, honestly, when you are lucky to have crossing with the dust, it is beautiful just as it is, the post-processing is minimal. In my camera bag
Normally in the Nature i have two cameras, zoom, wide angle and macro lenses, and everything for them: cleaners, chargers, ect. And, of course, memory cards, computer and hard drives.Feedback
All about Nature - your luck to be at the right place in the right time. You can not predict the light. Near the Mara river, while you waiting for the crossing (usually hours) quite far from the river (you have to give wildebeests space and make them feel safe, so they shouldn't see any cars), maximum you can do - to tell your guide which side from the action you would like to be. When animals had started and you drove to the river bank, all depends on place which animals chose.
