Location
This was shot in a abandoned quarters of the Koti Residency / British Residency in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This is part of a heritage structure build during British Occupation of India completed in the year 1798. This was shot in October 2015, during a photowalk conducted as part of Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk.Time
This must have been shot between 9am to 11 am.Lighting
The lighting in the outdoors was harsh and the indoors were dark and moody. This room caught my attention due to the beam of light passing entering through the ventilator across the room creating a silhouette of the ceiling fan. The challenge was to balance the light such that I didn't lose the detail on the outdoors while managing to capture the mood in the indoors. I wasn't aware of HDR / bracketing those times, so a call was made that I would let go a part of the highlights so that the soul of the space was captured.Equipment
Canon 550D, Canon EF 18-135mm F3.5-5.6. This was shot in ambient light and handheld.Inspiration
History inspires curiosity and Present inspires observation and Introspection enables learning. This room was part of a heritage structure built in Palladian Architectural style currently in state of abandonment and with beautiful light only imagining how beautiful would this room have been during its hey days.Editing
Back then I wasn't editing much, I used a free software downloaded from internet cant recollect the name to tweet the exposure (highlights, shadows) and sharpness to arrive at the desirable conclusion to make this image. Happy to see that it is able to make a connect with the community. In my camera bag
I use a Fujifilm XT2 these day's, I carry a 16-55mm f2.8 all the time, besides 35mm f1.4, 56mm f1.2 and 10-24mm f4 lens in my bag. A Godox V860II F and Vanguard VEO 263 Tripod in my bag.Feedback
When shooting Heritage / Architectural structure research always helps us plan images. Based on the same get an idea on the techniques which can help us make the desired images. You may not be an expert but you can at least give it your best when you are prepared. Thanks for the support for my work. Happy Photo making to you all.
