Location
I took this photograph one evening whilst watching the moon rising from my living room window. This beautiful full moon inspired me to get my camera and tripod and venture outside.Time
I remember it was early evening and the moon was still low in the sky, the colours coming from the bright full moon were captivating and it looked like the sky was on fire. i loved the way the clouds were slowly passing and made the sky even more dramatic. my aim was to try capture the moon as was in this low position.Lighting
My aim was to capture the colors of the surrounding sky, and the drama that the clouds were creating from this huge bright moon. The orange, yellow and black looked beautiful.that evening. I had to get this before the moon got any higher in the sky and i lost the luminosity of the moonlight.Equipment
I set up my tripod and put my my Canon 7d mrk ii on the tripod and used a wide angle lens to get this photograph.Inspiration
I usually manage to capture beautiful sunsets but a big bright moon are a rarity due to low cloud and rain in the area i live. i love the sky and i enjoy every opportunity i can of being able to capture a beautiful sky,be it sun, moon, rainbows auroras, meteors i just rise to the challenge and enjoy every moment.Editing
I may have slightly opened the shadow areas in Photoshop but that would have been all and then converted the image to a Jpg from a raw file.In my camera bag
I normally carry two Canon lenses to allow different focal distance, i have a Tamron lens with a built in adapter for macro work, i also carry a light meter.tripod and various filters and covers to avoid lens flare. depending on location i also sometimes carry a speed light and a small diffuser for flash.never without my remote trigger and lens cleaner.Feedback
look out for new moons and clear skys, August is a great month as the sunsets are incredible and its the harvest moon season,so when the new harvest moon is rising you are able to capture the remaining light of the setting sun and brightness of the huge Harvest moon rising.
