Location
This photograph was taken whilst standing in the middle of the river. This is a beautiful water fall with a tragically romantic link attached. One of many of Dumfries and galloways natural beauty spots.Time
I took this photograph early in the afternoon.Lighting
I took various photographs at different exposure settings to see which I liked best. I plan on revisiting this waterfall when the flow is faster and I plan on using a longer exposure to try create a more dreamy effect in the water.Equipment
I used my Canon eos 7d mark ii and also a tripod. The lens I used was a Canon 75- 300mm lens.Inspiration
I was inspired by the natural beauty of the waterfall and the tragic story, that the waterfall has in local history.Editing
I did very slight adjustment in photoshop by opening up the shadow areas and slight adjustment to the green saturation. Not much post processing was required.In my camera bag
I carry normally 2 lenses. An extra SD card and spare batteries. Also my tripod or monopod and filters.Feedback
Make sure you wear something Waterproof to get in the water, and a tripod for accuracy in getting your photograph straight, but also essential if using a longer exposure. To avoid shake use a timer equally important part of camera equipment. I use an automatic timer, to avoid any movement.
