Location
This picture was taken during our travel by Shaolinskoe lake in the Altay mountains.Time
There happen a funny story with this photo. The point is I intended to take a picture of a magnificent sunrise. I left the camp early and walked through the bushes to the lake. The moon rose over the water. The view was so beautiful I take plenty of pictures with the Moon waiting for the Sun. Suddenly I realized the sunrise would not be visible here. At the matter of fact Sun had already rose just behind the lonely high mountain on the East. Instead of the sunrise I got the moonrise) And I liked this unexpected turn and the photo. It was on July the 8th, 2015 at 3:13 AM.Lighting
Basically the composition of this photo is all about triangles. So I include three light points: the white peak of nearest mountain, the shining far mountains and the Moon.Equipment
This was shoot on a Canon 500d mounted on the tripod, with an 24mm f /2.8 lens+PL filter.Inspiration
I love the mountains and landscape photos from Geo magazine, I dreamt for months of taking a peaceful nice photo of the mountains reflected in the lake.Editing
Yes, there was post-processing. The landscape I wanted to picture was quite wide. So I took a tripod and take pictures for HDR panorama. Then put it together, add some light for shadows. In my camera bag
When go camping or traveling I usually take tripod, 24mm f/2.8 lens (it is leghtweght, sharp and small size) and 70-300mm f/5.6 lens (useful for faraway mountain peaks and animals), 2 batteries, plastic bag (in case of rain), UV filter and PL filter for 24mm lens.Feedback
