I really liked the location of this particular little plant because it was shaded from harsh sunlight by larger plants. This allowed the vibrant colors to really pop.Equipment

I love spring in the desert. Everything just pops. It was one of those days when something in you just has to go out and take photos, luckily I didn't have to go far, as this little cluster was right in my yard.Editing

I am yet a young photographer, so my bag doesn't consist of much. The camera- a Nikon Coolpix 500, simple yet versatile. An extra SD card, a lens cleaning cloth, camera charger, and always, always extra batteries fully charged. I cannot tell you how many times those have created me in handy.Feedback
Look for the little things, sometimes great beauties like this are smaller than you would think; great shots don't have to come from far off places; take lots and lots of photos, try it on every setting of your camera (especially if your subject isn't going to move this technique is priceless. Many a time I've shot scene on only one setting and find myself wishing later that I had taken more. The best shots often come from many, many poor shots.)
