This is a small part of a huge herd of elk that we saw on South Pass Highway (Highway 28) in Wyoming; I captured this image in March 2015. We had taken a spur of the moment road trip, as we often do, and I had a wonderful day photographing some beautiful and historic areas around this part of the state. Just when I thought the day couldn't get better, we saw this herd of elk just off the highway! It was the perfect end to a fabulous day.
