Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in an animal and bird sanctuary on a trip day with my daughter. Animals feel really good with her and this blue guacamayo wasn't the exception. The bird, grown in captivity was very friendly to people, but when she saw my daughter, she felt in love and climbed into her shoulder and literally close her eyes and went into a trance. Something I see most animals do with my little girl. So beyond having a couple of portraits, that you can see in my page, I got a couple of close takes like this one. This ws close to noon

Time

This was close to noon with natural light, the place had very nice soft light to keep the idea of the inside of a forest, with lots of plants and places for the birds to stand

Lighting

Nikon and most full frames have a great noise reduction with high ISO. A good camera is not that expensive, just don't buy the cheapest you can buy, that is the best way to frustration.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D600 with a 24 to 85 lens, the one you buy the camera with.

Inspiration

My daughter, like every parent is a source of inspiration and try to take my camera when we go to walks or trips. Having this enchantress of animals is a great opportunity for taking pics of details on animals that of a sodden become incredibly relaxed. The feathers with its amazing detail were a great opportunity for a beautiful artistic surface detailed pic.

Editing

This pic just being crop slightly, and check on the white balance.

In my camera bag

I carry my Nikon D600, a 24 to 84 lens, a 28 to 300 lens for outdoor days, I work as a fishing guide and this lens allows me to get excellent pictures of my fishing bodies and the nature around. While I was working in Alaska as a guide, most of the bear pictures were made with this lens while working. Flash Nikon SB700, for wedding photography and outdoors photography.
