Behind The Lens

Location

Spur of the moment photo taken on my back deck. Pets are never are good models. So, you got to take advantage of the moment.

Time

It was midday in the shade and I was in the sun light. Was not sure it was going to come out.

Lighting

Not the ideal time of day for the best photo midday.

Equipment

I was using my Canon 7D MarkII with my Tamron 18-270 lens. The lens has VC so this was shot freehand.

Inspiration

I wanted a subject that instantly drew the admirer to that subject. With his blueish white eye, white whiskers and mostly black body. And being able to blur the background just set this off!!! One of my favorite photos.

Editing

No post processing straight off the Camera.

In my camera bag

Depends on where I am going. My travel bag I have my 7D MarkII with my Tamron 18-400 which can cover a wide range of subject matter, batteries, etc.. My Ape case houses my 5D MarkIII, 100mm macro, 70-200 gen1, 50mm, 24mm 1.4, batteries, light meter, etc.. This is for a day of nothing but photos. I also have a 400mm for wildlife and moon shots.

Feedback

With animals and pets don’t miss an opportunity cause they don’t happen often!!! I am constantly learning. Take criticism and learn from what others tell you!!
