Location
On a small island, by a lake in Finland where I have spent most of my summers ever since I was little.Time
It was taken around seven o'clock in the morning. I was going to take a morning swim, there was a slight mist, a beautiful stillness as the sun was coming up, and the water surface was calm, the clouds reflected in the water.Lighting
It was just the early morning light, as the sun was coming up on the other side of the island, at my back, behind trees and rocks.Equipment
I was only carrying my pocket camera at the time, seeing as I was actually just going for a swim, but I am never really going anywhere with a camera of some sort. I was a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V.Inspiration
Just the beauty of the familiar surroundings, trying to capture the serenity and joy it filled my soul with.Editing
I dug out the colours in Photoshop (Elements), since the original photo did not show them to their real advantage; it was a bit too greyish.In my camera bag
I love my Sony SLT A77, and my 75-300 mm zoom lens, but if I am not planning to go on a "photo shoot" as such, only for example only for a walk along a country road or running an errand in the city, I carry something lighter, like my Canon EOS M or my trusty Sony Cyber-shot and my smart phone, of course. Never go anywhere without a camera of some sort!Feedback
Just always "be prepared", beauty or adventure may await you around the next corner, and when it presents itself, do not hesitate, but give it a shot, (literally).
