This rose bush almost died a few months before this capture after being eaten by wallabies. I took this last year - 2014 with my Sony kit lens. It was my first real attempt at photographing raindrops and had only recently started using my Sony a65 camera on manual. It took me a couple of hours trying to get this right and I had not yet invested in a tri-pod so I improvised using a chair in various positions.
I was so excited to get this shot - new life for my special rose bush 'Beauty from Ashes'. This is one of my personal top three favourite photos to date. Very little editing was needed, slight crop and minor enhancement.
