This is amazing! Love sea lions!!! You did a great job composing this shot, great colors, straight horizon, great detail, love the background, and good contrast. Thanks for sharing! :)

Location
Sea lions are locals at Lancelin Island, Lancelin which is about an hour and half North of Perth in Western Australian. There is a small marine reserve making for some healthy living for these guys! This particular Sea Lion was enjoying the Australian sun having an afternoon nap!Time
Our group took a short ride in our "tinny" over to Lancelin Island to snorkel in the marine reserve. Upon landing on the beach we found this guy relaxing. He was more than happy to pose for a few good photos!Lighting
This image was all about capturing the huge blue sky and the whispy clouds. I took it from a low position to get a bit of sand in the foreground and to make sure the sky was big.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony NEX 5-N. 18-55mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
We knew the sea lions lived on the island, I never imagined I would have captured an image as good as this though.Editing
I did not do much post processing on this particular image. Literally an auto enhancement maybe. In my camera bag
The Sony NEX 5N is fairly old now with newer models having been released, but it's all I use now and I have managed to capture some amazing images. Originally from the UK but now living in New Zealand, a lot of the locations I get too make it hard to take a bad photo!Feedback
If you want to take images of animals, take them in their natural habitats! The outcome will always be more impressive than taking photos at the zoo!
