A photograph from my DTLA series taken this summer just won this award from an on-line contest titled "Pretty Everyday Things". I guess parking is pretty ordinary for most people...The irony behind this photo is that parking in DTLA is actually EXTRAORDINARILY expensive and difficult. I remember when my good friend Brett Langley came up from the OC to met at "Juice Served Here" and when I walked him to his car the attendant kindly gave him his keys and then said, "$20 please"...Brett looked at his watch, then up at the apathetic attendant and without a beat calmly asked, "How do you sleep at night". We had only been in the bourgeois cafe for 45 minutes!
