Early morning sunrise in a misty New Forest. We have free roaming ponies all over the forest, and this one watched me the entire time I was taking photos, making sure that I didn't intend on getting any closer.

She started to trot towards me, had to get back to my car quite quickly, the ponies in the forest can be a bit tetchy, and there was a foal nearby.

Be mindful of being in the presence of a wild animal. Strictly speaking the New Forest ponies belong to the commoners of the New Forest, but they are free roaming ponies, therefore have a wild nature to them, and like any wild animal will feel threatened if you get too close, or hang around too long, especially if they have any young nearby. Get your camera ready before you approach, so that you're not faffing about and wasting time, and causing any anxiety to an animal. Be quick, and only take a few frames, then leave them in peace. Showing respect and being ready is probably the best advice anyone can give when photographing wildlife.
