Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in my backyard while playing with my dog, Brownie.

Time

I remember playing with my dog outside one afternoon and I just loved how the light caught his amber-colored eyes. I ran inside to get my attachable macro lens for my phone. It took several tries to not get a blurry picture (remember that I was taking a super close-up photo of a fidgety dog's eyes). I finally captured it!

Lighting

The lighting hit my dog's amber-colored eyes perfectly to where they looked like actual clear amber.

Equipment

I just used an iPhone 5s with an attachable macro lens.

Inspiration

I have so many pictures of my dog, but I realized I had no pictures, let alone a macro, of his beautiful little eyes. The lighting was absolutely perfect.

Editing

I did not.

In my camera bag

I always have my phone (iPhone 5s), my Nikon d810 camera, and an attachable macro lens for my iPhone. I also carry around a Polaroid camera.

Feedback

When trying to take a macro picture of someone's eyes, make sure the lighting is absolutely perfect. It will enhance the eye color to its full potential.
