Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken on the beach on Siesta Key, in Sarasota, Florida.

Time

It was sunset, as people were packing up and leaving for the day.

Lighting

It had been stormy that afternoon so residual clouds were accenting the setting sun.

Equipment

This was a spur of the moment shot. I used my iPhone 6, which I set on the sand next to a pool of water that provided the reflection.

Inspiration

Siesta Key has always been a great spot to take photos. As I was walking to the parking lot, I saw the image in my head. I used the only camera I had with me at the time.

Editing

Suprisingly, not much. One or two notches of saturation, all done inside the camera. That's it.

In my camera bag

I use Canon gear when I shoot professionally. My favorite is an T2i (it fits my hands and its light). My two workhorse lenses are a 28-135 mm and an 18-55mm.
