This photo was taken at my home when I lived in Suffolk in the UKTime
This was taken around mid afternoon, the sun would stream into the living room at around this timeLighting
There was no additional lighting other than the sun, I noticed the flowers were being lit through the blooms causing the colours to really shine through, and highlight the veins and lines in the petals.Equipment
This was taken with a Sony Alpha A200 and kit 18-70 zoom lens mounted on a rather rickety tripodInspiration
When I shoot flowers I love to go for clarity and vivid colour, this image captures this for me perfectly. Tulips also happen to be my wife's favourite flower so this is something she can enjoy too. It has ended up on the wall as a 36 by 24 canvas !Editing
Very rarely do I post process anything, this image has had no processing at allIn my camera bag
I shoot with a Sony A58. I normally carry 3 lenses with me, the kit 18-55,a Sigma 70-300 and a Sigma 50-500. Tripod ( not the rickety one anymore ), Monopod ( the 50-500 is a heavy beast ), plus CPL and ND filters. None of my kit is ground breaking or massively expensive but I have had some great fun and good results with it.Feedback
Look for Light, this shot was made by the light through the subject rather than just off of it, keep trying, reposition and try again if it doesn't work out. Most importantly have fun trying.
