I am taking drawing lessons from Marcos Dorado Calderón, a local artist of some repute. He just had two pieces accepted to the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, and he has a show coming up here in Fresno at the Arte Américas next month. We sometimes work cooperatively. In this image, Marcos is documenting the trees on the Fulton Mall in Fresno before those trees are removed to turn Fulton Mall into a street. I decided to document Marcos documenting the trees. Because I'm taking drawing lessons from him, I decided to try to fool him into thinking I'd really progressed to the point where I could draw this from the picture I took. Marcos was not fooled, but I like the effect very much. I doubt anyone could easily reproduce this, since it isn't a simple matter of applying a plugin, nor is it a formula. And there actually is a very tiny amount of hand-drawing on this to enhance certain aspects.
