This was taken on 19th July whilst out for a walk with the familyLighting
I loved the contrast between the darkness of the clouds and the bright light of the setting sun coming from behind and shining upwards over themEquipment
This was shot on a Canon 650d using a Canon 18-200mm f3.5-5.6Inspiration
I was out walking with my family and had taken my camera for any opportunities that may arise. The light coming over the clouds attracted my eye at first as it had been quite a dull day The difference between the clouds and light was fabulous and then I spotted the gull which seemed almost to be coming from the light. It almost reminded me of an angel coming from heaven. It also reminds me that no matter what 'darkness' or hard times there are in life, there is usually something 'light' or good that comes out of it.Editing
Due to the dark and light differences I had to do some post processing. I always shoot in raw and this enables me to bring out the detail in the edges of the clouds and to keep the light beamsIn my camera bag
I have recently upgraded my camera to a Canon 7d with two lenses - 50mm 1.8 stm which I love because of its shallow depth of field, and an 18-135 f 3.5-5.6 stm. I also always carry a small handheld tripod and a spare battery!Feedback
Always walk around with your eyes open. There is so much going on and so much beauty in the world that we walk past every day without noticing. Take time to look for the beauty in life.
