Location
The photo was taken from the balcony of my hotel room in Körösf?, Transylvania. It is a very nice, peaceful hotel, just next to the field.Time
This was taken in the morning, the 2nd of July, 2015.Lighting
I wanted to sunrays look like they are breaking out of the clouds. I had been waiting until the clouds moved a bit and covered the Sun. I aimed the lens such a way that sunrays flare on the lens a bit.Equipment
This was shot with my previous camera, a Fujifilm FinePix HS25 (not interchangeable lens). I did not have my tripod with me, I used the railing to stabilize the camera.Inspiration
I always liked photos of the sky, especially with clouds. I had only taken photos of the sunset before, so I wanted to try photographing the sunrise, too.Editing
It's an HDR photo, I used Photomatix Pro 5 to create the HDR image from three images. Then saturated colors and add a bit of contrast with Zoner Photo Studio 17.In my camera bag
Since I have my current camera (Olympus E-PL6), I carry two lenses (these have surprisingly good quality): 14-42 mm (eqv. 28-84) and 40-150 mm (eqv. 80-300) and a protecting filter for each one. I also always carry a mini tripod, and a normal tripod, if the light conditions require it. I don't like heavy bags and this equipment is pretty light.Feedback
Try to get up early, before people usually come out, and take more pictures from the same place with few minutes interval. Find the moment, when the coverage of the clouds is the best. The ratio of the sky and ground is also important, in most cases don't show too much from the ground. Doing a sunrise and sunset photo from the same place could be very interesting.
