I took this photo on a beach near Rome.Time
It was a cold winter morning and temperature was around 2°C... I had to take my shoes off and enter into the water to be able to frame properly... quite an experience. :-)Lighting
I wanted this image to look dramatic... sunrise happened few minutes before, but the sun was still behind some clouds, so I decided to stack my ND1000 and my ND8 to get a total of 6 minutes exposure.Equipment
For this photo I used Canon EOS 7D + Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 + Haida ND filters (ND1000 + ND8) + Manfrotto 290 Series EXIF: 11mm - ƒ/16 - 360s - ISO 100Inspiration
I've been inspired by this minimal composition... and also a friend of mine suggested to try. :-)Editing
I worked only few minutes on this image... I have stacked 3 different exposures to increase exposure time and then converted to Black and White. Most of the work was about removing spots... :-)In my camera bag
Without my ultra wide angle lens I don't even get up from my bed! :-) I use 16mm (or below) for 90% of my shots... and I use ND filters (graduated or not) for 50% of the time, so this means that I use also tripod and remote. :-) To recap: Canon EOS 6D Canon EF 16-35 f/4 IS Haida and NiSi filters (both ND and GND) Terrascape Filters Bag Manfrotto 055 tripod Manfrotto 322RC2 head Fstop bagFeedback
If you want to take a similar picture, make sure the composition is well balanced, and also make sure you calculate exposure time correctly, because it may be tricky when you stack few filters on your lens. :-)
