Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken in Luna, La Union, two hours drive from our place. Luna, La Union is famous for its peable beaches and its colorful stones.

Time

Thus image was taken around 4 in the afternoon as the sun is preparing to set. Thus is also the time where small Fisher folks like this manong (lokal dialect to call an elder person with respect) as he cleaned and folds his fishing net for the next fishing expedition the next day.

Lighting

In this particular photograph I used the 4am sun(tropical) to light the the fishing net to capture it with the yellow light of the sun. Also it adds additional colors to the stones/peable on the foreground.

Equipment

During this shoot I used my trusted Nikon D90 with its 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I like taking pictures along the beach specially during sunsets. Here in the Philippines, at this time you can see people doing a variety of activities along the shores for their livelihood or just to watch the spectacular sunset. Photos like this tends to help me be grounded and looks for the simple things in life that are interesting and moments that are priceless.

Editing

Yes, I made a little processing in this photograph just to ehphazise the foreground and its colors.

In my camera bag

During that time, I stuff my bag width just the camera plus a couple of lenses, 18-55 and 70-200mm and with my tripod.

Feedback

Just be keen to what ever is happening around the beaches where locals live and you may just get super interesting sites that are worthy to be captures and to be seen for a lifetime.
