I took this photo while I was out working on the trans Canada highway. This mountain was just outside my view at a lodge at Lake Louise.Time
Unfortunately I took this picture a few years ago. The picture would have been taken sometime after 7pm as that was around about the time I worked till. It was nice to be able to catch a good picture of the moon while it was still bright out.Lighting
I was lucky with this picture. I looked out the window and when I saw that moon so crisp by the mountain I had to run out and take the photo. Natural lighting was all that I needed.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D5100 with a Nikon Nikkor AF-S 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens.Inspiration
It is never hard getting inspiration in the Beautiful British Columbia. Every morning and night I got to look at this beautiful mountain and to capture the moon with it was just perfect.Editing
Back at the time that I took this photo I never used post-processing programs. This is the Raw image. In my camera bag
My Camera bag holds my Nikon D5100, 55-300mm lens, 18-55mm lens, wireless remote trigger, extra filters, extra SD card, micro fiber cloth, a lens-filter-viewfinder cleaning kit, and outside the bag I try and remember to always have my tripod on me.Feedback
If you can take a vacation go to British Columbia. Central and eastern B.C have some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. In the Lake Louise area there are many hiking trails and many turn offs on the highway that capturing the simply beautiful mountains, lakes, and waterfalls are extremely easy. There are no big cities near Lake Louise so the sky has no smog and the light pollution is at a bare minimum. I would definitely choose to go during late spring to early summer, because there is still snow covering the mountain yet where you will be standing it will be nice and warm. Winter tends to hit the area very fast here and roads can be treacherous. Just always have your camera on you as you will never know when inspiration will hit!
