Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this image in the studios of the college where I was studying. This was at CATC in Melbourne, Australia. It was actually apart of one of my subjects and was for my final assignment.

Time

No exciting answer here was just mid-morning.

Lighting

The lighting was a pretty easy set up. I had a soft box coming front on and a direct snoot light coming from the back left hand corner.

Equipment

I had Canon 6d, Manfrotto tripod and my 24-70mm lens.

Inspiration

The assignment was on food, and I love colour in photography so I went for a more colourful desert shoot. I really love the final outcome of this image, as it has a youthfulness to it. Reminds me of my early childhood birthdays.

Editing

I didn't use a lot of post editing, I just increased the overall vibrance, quite a bit.

In my camera bag

That depends on the shoot, but I always have my Canon 6d, three lenses, 2 zoom and 1 prime, a flash and a tripod, pretty standard. I have also started carrying wet weather covers for my camera as I have been caught out a couple of times.

Feedback

Think outside the box. Food isn't my thing to shoot but I made it work for me. I chose to make it colourful and fun. I didn't get too technical, I just made the most of what I was given and made it me.
