Location
Fell reflections was taken on the shore of Lake Derwent in the Cumbrian Lake District.Time
This shot was taken at around 10am at the end of March 2013.Lighting
This was an early spring morning on a clear day, so blue skies and shallow light.Equipment
Canon Powershot SX110 IS compact camera.Inspiration
Whilst on a walking weekend in the UK's Lake District, a weekend that turned out to be the coldest Easter in living memory, we were walking along the shore of the lake when I saw the reflections in the water and just loved the 'hourglass' shape that they created with the landscape.Editing
No processing other than cropping and balancing, just as I usually do.In my camera bag
If I'm out on the hills for a walk, I'll be carrying a compact camera (now a Canon G5X). However if I'm planning to take pictures, I'll have my SLR (Canon 5D MK IV), with my sigma 50mm F1.2 prime and 24 - 70mm F2.8 zoom lenses, I rarely need anything else. I will also have my light carbon fibre tripod which folds up really small.Feedback
Fell reflections is proof that it doesn't matter what camera you have with you, as long as you do and know how to use it. Keep your eyes open and take your time, but above all, have fun.
