Behind The Lens

Location
Photo was taken at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. It was actually the first time I went out with my DSLR and I was just snapping photos with my buddy in the scene.
Time
Just after sunset. The clouds never did turn the brilliant red/orange I was hoping for.
Lighting
This shot was more lucky than talent on the lighting. I was mostly testing composition and getting a feel for my equipment.
Equipment
This was shot with a Canon T5 Rebel and the lens was a f/3.5 18-55mm
Inspiration
It was a beautiful scene and I just had to capture it. Nature did all the work.
Editing
I did very little post processing. Changed the contrast and exposure with slight saturation to bring back the true color that was lost when shooting.
In my camera bag
I pack light. I usually only carry my camera, 2 lenses, a compactable tripod and a small cloth for cleaning.
Feedback
Try to be in the right spot at the right time. My best pictures are because of the scene at hand, not because of my camera knowledge... although that does help to capture the scene better.
