Location
This image was made in the middle of a highway in San Antonio, Texas. I am photographer focusing on digital photography and digital photo manipulation. My photos show different places where some characters cohabit. These characters can be objects, animals or humans and by simple acts they confront their condition at this moment. They live in different and ambiguous worlds, divorced from standards and rules.Time
Before this photo was created many sketches were done along with the planning. So the best time it was Saturday evening because the lighting around this period of hours was perfect in every sense. So it was taken on July 18, between 7:20 and 7:30 PMLighting
One of the most important things for me to create this photo was to look at the location one week before the photoshot, although we do know that natural lighting is changing all the time, this would give me an idea where the sun vanishes. I usually do this in order to know from where the light source is coming, this way I know what kind of equipment I am going to need the day of the shoot to modifie the light if necessary.Equipment
The equipment I used it was CANON 6D, TOKINA 11-16 2.8, slik AMT tripod and a wireless remote control.Inspiration
I found in the photography the main tool as a means of expression and I complement it with photo digital manipulation in post-production. I like the idea about not documenting the locations and places the way they are on the contrary I try to create a different perspective where the common is unknown through simple actions or interventions and sometimes creating nonexistent worlds. Creating different and ambiguous worlds inspires me to make photos like this one.Editing
This photo was created out of 5 images. The day of the photoshot I captured different images of the chairs in different positions and from different angles, I got different types of skies and a diverse set of pictures of the main character in different poses. When I processed the final image I just stick togheter the images in one as a puzzle in a way they look "normal". About editing color I used curves, selective color and gradient map.In my camera bag
There are 5 basic things I must have in my bag before I start creating, my lens CANON 50mm 1.8, my TOKINA 11-16 2.8, my wireless remote control, my CANON 6D and the sketch of the idea or concept.Feedback
A few hours there are behind this image from planning to post-processing so I have to say that when you have a design of what you want in a paper along with details in how you are going to make it, this will save you a lot of time. When manipulating images for me it is important to get the photos of the different things I want in my photo the same day of the shoot, this way you will have the same color balance, the same lighting and you will work way less in the computer.
