Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my hometown Ia?i, Romania in 2011 with the help of my cousin (that's me in the photo), while working on my Master's Degree thesis.

Time

We shot this during daytime but we made the studio dark and worked with one light so we could play with the shadows.

Lighting

We used just one light so we’d give the picture a more mysterious appearance.

Equipment

Canon EOS 450D

Inspiration

This photo was taken for a thesis about the difference between graphical elements between music genres. Basically we did a photosession poster photography. And since I felt this one could be something different, I edited it and changed it's purpose. What inspired me wanting to reveal myself, in a different way.

Editing

The eyes are the most edited part in this photo, revealing a vampiric, cat-like glance, waiting for its prey.

In my camera bag

CANON EOS 70D and 459D, 50mm, Rokinon fish eye and the standard one. Also a tripod, reflectors and a flash.

Feedback

You just need a dark room and one light to capture something similar, but since the concept is capturing the manifestation of the self, do it your own way. Be original!
