Location
This image was taken in my home in Conway, South Carolina.Time
I went outside on a Thursday at around 1:00pm to collect some flowers to use inside to avoid the wind contaminating my scene. Trying different flowers took some time but in the end the photo got taken at 2:56pm June 12, 2015.Lighting
I finally got a second flash and wanted to put it in use so I used a colored pillow to give a nice pink background lighting with another flash being my key light.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon Rebel T3 using my Canon f/2.8 60mm Macro lens and 2 Canon Speedlite 430EX II. My tripod was just a generic travel tripod.Inspiration
I had just got a new flash and wanted to test it out and I also hadn't had my macro lens for too long and was really enjoying putting it to use.Editing
Not much done in post processing other than a little sharpening and spot clean up from a slightly dusty sensor. In my camera bag
I always keep my macro lens with me because it is my most used lens but I also keep my trusty Canon f/1.4 50mm and my Canon f/2.8 24mm. I also always carry a cleaning kit now and a dust cloth to make sure I don't have to clean up dust spots in post processing anymore.Feedback
Be as patient as you can especially if you're working outdoors because wind is the bane of all macro photographers. Be careful with focus because the closer you are to your subject the less depth of field you have. Practice makes perfect and don't be stingy with the shutter while using digital, so SNAP AWAY!
