Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Council Grounds State Park in Wisconsin. I try not to miss the little things on the ground when looking for photo opportunities!

Time

I was walking through the park in the evening and decided to get a low-angle shot to make the subject appear larger. The bokeh in the background was possible thanks to the sun still being up.

Lighting

I wanted the bokeh to create a fun, happy feel.

Equipment

Canon T1i camera with Canon 28mm lens. The lens worked great for a close-up!

Inspiration

I liked the colors and thought everything would work good together.

Editing

I increased the saturation and adjusted the brightness and contrast in Photoshop. I wanted the image to be bold and colorful.

In my camera bag

I always have my camera and a few lens choices with me. Currently I use a Nikon D750 with a Sigma 24-105mm lens, Tamron 150-600mm lens, and a Nikon 50mm lens. I also have a lot of memory cards and a couple spare batteries!

Feedback

Make sure there's appropriate sunlight for great bokeh. Use a small aperture. Get low and don't be afraid to get you or the bottom of your camera dirty.
