Behind The Lens

Location

I was on the Lake Shore Drive Bridge at the mouth of the river.

Time

It was a bit after midnight when me and my significant other decided to go out for a little stroll. It was early fall if remember correctly. I do remember it was a bit brisk.

Lighting

I think my city shines bright enough. I got this off without extra lighting apparatuses. I had just the right amount of light to illuminate the letters on the bridge, and just enough Darkness you could make out the name on the building. I'm still fairly new at this but I'm learning with every snap.

Equipment

This was a shot I took with my Samsung Note 3. It takes 4K (Ultra HD) video, and you can take photo during video.

Inspiration

It was The Perfect Storm of Truth. I feel like this is a perfect representation of the average Americans point of view. Is the perfect metaphor, there's nothing but crap floating down the river, it's floating from his Direction and the message someone wrote on the banister just tied it all in together perfectly. I just couldn't pass it up.

Editing

Not much just took it in black and white with my phone. I added to the contrast a bit.

In my camera bag

I definitely keep my Note 3 on hand at all times. In my bag I have a Nikon D5300 body with a autofocus Nikkor lens 18 - 55 millimeters. Nikkor 300 millimeter manual lens. Two extra batteries. A high-definition and a UVprotective lens filter. A macro is a wide-angle adapter

Feedback

Don't get caught naked. When you see that opportunity, make sure you're covered. Never leave the house without at least a good high quality cell phone or a decent Point and shoot. Trust me.
