Location
This photo was taken in one of the studio in my city. There are paper backgrounds and interior backgrounds there, so I like this studio. The one is small and cozy.Time
It was a daylight two-hours shooting: the first hour was given for portraits; the second hour was given for nude.Lighting
I wanted this photo to look mystifying, intriguing and erotic. Definitely it had to be in low key. I put two soft boxes on sides of the model. The light had to show the model and at the same time to keep her in the shadows.Equipment
It was my only one camera Canon 500D with Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 lens, two flashes with soft boxes.Inspiration
The model is a dancer and I wanted use this in shooting. I imagined a dancing nude gipsy or nude eastern dancer. I envisioned her lines, her moves, sensitivity of her spellbinding dance. We found only a gipsy dance costume and at the second hour we started to realize this idea.Editing
I developed and converted in black&white the photo in Lightroom. Then in Photoshop I added more empty space around models. In my camera bag
I have only one camera, my old Canon 500D with Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 lens. All my photos since 2011 I made on this body and 18-55 kit lens. I bought Sigma lens in 2012 and obviously my photos became better. This is my battle kit; I take it on all of my shootings.Feedback
In studio you can do everything you want. You can know an idea of shooting, but don't know how will look the best shot. You can try to do shoots better and better, you spend hours, but feel it is not perfect. And suddenly a model makes a random move, you find a great position and a perfect shot is made. Sometimes a random shot is a great shot.
