Location
I took this photo at Sumburgh Head on Shetland whilst up there working. I am fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna both whilst working in Shetland and when I'm home in Loch Lomond.Time
There was a group of us that went down to see the Puffins and the lighthouse, we went after work so it was about 22:00 when we got there.Lighting
Shetland during the summer months is blessed with pretty much 24hr daylight so there is definitely a prolonged sunset/sunrise which is great for capturing natural light.Equipment
I shot the photo with a Nikon D7100 and a Nikon 55-200mm lens, I didn't use a tripod or a flash.Inspiration
The inspiration for the photo came from the combination of colours and the subjects lack of fear.Editing
I didn't have to do a lot of processing for this shot. I developed the raw file only once and just slightly touched the contrast and clarity. In my camera bag
I don't usually pack a lot of kit whilst up in Shetland. My Nikon D7100, a 18-55mm Nikon lens, a 50mm Nikon prime and the 55-200mm lens I used for that photo.Feedback
The only advice I can really give is that you never know what's around the corner. So take your camera, keep your eyes open and really look at your surroundings. And make sure your camera battery is charged.
