The photo was taken during my travel to Iceland. That was a totally spontaneous shot. I saw these horses from a distance, but suddenly they came to the fence and stood in a line, posing like real models.Time
This was taken on august 17, 2013, midday. Not ideal daytime for shooting, however, this time the light was just perfect, a bit cloudy, no harsh sunlight.Lighting
As the book says: don't shoot midday. Luckily, for me, it was cloudy and the shot was taken as if it is a golden hourEquipment
I used Canon 550d, with 50mm lens. No tripod or any other equipment. I think, it's a good example, that even with a "simple" camera, great shot can be taken.Inspiration
I love being outdoors, see mountains and open spaces. Iceland is a terrific place, you just don't want to put your camera back in the bag.Editing
Usually landscape photography requires a lot of processing. However, this particular time I did minimal post-processing: some cropping and a bit of light and color adjustments. In my camera bag
Lately, I have upgraded my equipment. So right now, it's a Canon 6D camera, 24-105mm&50mm Canon lenses, tripod, ND filter and a remote shutter control. Simple as it is and I enjoy every moment of using it.Feedback
Don't start shooting the moment you go outdoors, just walk for a while, breathe the air, feel the surroundings, look around you, be spontaneous and ready.
