I almost missed getting this get shot of the cathedral on a hot day in Rome. My tour group had been exploring Vatican City all day. I was just leaving when I decided to take one last look at this beautiful cathedral before flying on to Madrid, Spain. When I turned around, this is what I saw and quickly steadied my 35mm camera with only 2 frames left. I held my breathe and quessed the shutter speed and aperture. Out of all the photos I took that summer of 1975, this was the best one that came out. I was still just beginning my career and love of photography. I've had so many positive comments from people when I display this photograph in art shows that I have done of the years.
