This photo was taken at the base Mt Greylock in the Berkshires, I'm an amiture photographer and this was just a spur of the moment picture ofor my dad and his best friend rusty!Time
This was mid afternoon I remember it was a cool September day we decided to go to the base of Mt greylock for my parents anniversary and I brought along my camera to get some nice pictures for a present to them. I remember coming out from the little lodge building coming around the corner and just being struck by how content my dad looked and how young rusty looked, he was about 13 in the picture. I will never forget how peaceful it seemed with the yellow leaves, I knew I had to get the picture and freeze that moment in time forever! It's still one of my most treasured pictures I have in my collection.Lighting
Only thing I can say about the lighting is that it was magical and mystical. Something about the light through the golden leaves just made it seem like time stood still.Equipment
I use a Canon T4i rebel, no flash and I always use manual focus so I know it's focused on just what I want.Inspiration
This was just a by chance photo as I was walking out of the little lodge and came around the corner I could have sworn I stepped back in time, my dad looked like a young carefree man and his best friend rusty looked as if he were a puppy again. I knew I had to take the shot and save it forever.Editing
I do very little post-processing, this picture I only darkened some of the highlights to make everything a little calmer and not washed outIn my camera bag
I carry a uv lense lense, cloths and extra batteries.Feedback
My only advice is always be looking for the simple pictures when no one is watching. The calm moments are the best pictures.
