Just wait until I'm not forced to use a phone camera then you all will have some real competition from this amateur :)

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph down at the river in Dayton Ohio, somewhere you wouldn't typically think of when you see this type of photo.

Time

The sun was just about to set in spring so it was probably around 6 or 7.

Lighting

The sun was setting and with the angle I was at it made the lighting perfect for the mood I wanted to set.

Equipment

This photo was actually taken with a 20$ android phone prior to me getting a real camera. Just goes to show you don't need pro equipment to get pro quality pictures.

Inspiration

It had been raining for a week and the water levels were high and splashing against the bank. Since I was using a cheap phone I didn't mind getting in the splash zone to get the view I was wanting to capture and lucky enough, the sun was in the perfect spot to be the backdrop of the water splashing up.

Editing

No editing was done to this photo, this is natural beauty in it's original lighting and color.

In my camera bag

I usually just carry my camera and spare memory cards but at the time of this picture I only had my phone.

Feedback

Patience and determination was key in capturing this moment. That and taking allot of blurry pictures before getting the quality this moment deserved.
