While visiting the rural town of Victoria, TX I walked around some of the older neighborhoods and was soon entranced by the rough, charming character of some of the aged, worn buildings I saw. This image of the peeling white-washed paint, the chipped wood and broken screen door served as a narrative metaphor for the comfortable, active, everyday rituals of the family members who moved in and out of the home and community over decades.
