Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this at a iris farm about 30 minutes outside of Portland Oregon. Really cool location.

Time

I think it was shot around 2 in the afternoon.

Lighting

It was a little overcast that day. I just used the natural lighting.

Equipment

I used either my Sony A7 or A7R. No flash or any of that. I did use my Mefoto tripod to get down low to the ground. I used the rear lcd screen on the camera to set up the shot.

Inspiration

My wife and I were on a road trip and we saw the farm and decided to stop and check it out. The barn was the main draw for me. I had to walk a while to get the shot but I really like the end result.

Editing

I used Adobe Lightroom and the Nik software suite. I use Color effects pro a lot.

In my camera bag

Usually my A7R and either my NEX-7 or A6000. Lenses 16-35 F4 Ziess and the 24-70 F4 Ziess. Sometimes I also carry the 70-200 or 35 2.8 Ziess. Usually I also pack a Mefoto travel tripod I like its small size.

Feedback

Be prepared to do some walking to find the best angle for your shot. Take a lot of images and take your time at the location.
