Location
This was taken at Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire UK.Time
This is one of my very favourite places, shot middle of the afternoon on my second visit to the ruined abbey. My first being in 2010, when I just fell in love with it and this one in 2012. I was better prepared in 2012 after having been there once already. It's virtually impossible to be there at the golden hour, because of closing hours. I was there in spring both times, but the daylight hours work well for shooting inside the ruin.Lighting
Natural lighting and I used a tripod.Equipment
I shot it with my old Canon EOS 350D, the 18-55mm zoom lense that it came with and a tripod. It was shot at 28mm.Inspiration
The architecture and natural lighting are just inspiring.Editing
I took three bracketed images at different exposures and treated it as an HDR but as photorealistic as possible. In my camera bag
I have my camera, which is now a Canon 70D, a Tamron 10-24mm, Tamron 28-75 mm a Canon 75-300mm and a Canon 50mm prime lens, a tripod, polarisers, UV filters, ND filters.Feedback
It's good to do some research, I was lucky enough to visit twice in two years, but there are apps to help one as well.I don't have them personally because my phone is too small but I research before hand on PC or laptop.
