Behind The Lens
Location
This phot was taken about 3 years ago at my grandmothers house, I am a self taught photographer with a couple online courses. This photo is of my son and my niece, This was before my career in photography really took off.Time
This image is a precious one to me because it shows the Love between cousins, this photo was taken in the afternoon right before the kids started their thanksgiving festivities.Lighting
This photo was taken in natural lighting shining through the sliding glass doors on the deck, I saw it as a perfect moment to snap away. I chose the black and white preset to bring out the details in the children's faces.Equipment
At the time of this image I was simply using a Fujifilm finepix 30x zoom camera without a flash. Holding it in my hands leaning across the kitchen table.Inspiration
As I was sitting at the kitchen table the children were cuddled up against each other in one chair across from me telling each other how much they loved each other, I could see the love in their faces and told them to look at me because I wanted to take a picture of them together. That's when they held on to each other close and smiled.Editing
The only post processing that I used with this image was adding a black and white preset. The image itself was perfect with the children I just wanted to express their faces more and hide the back ground a little. In my camera bag
Now that I have gone further with my photography career, I always have 2 64gb memory cards, my Nikon D3200 body, Nikon DX af-s Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6g2 lens, A Nikon DX af-s Nikkor 55-200 mm 1:4-5.6 g lens, Neewer NW 561 flash, a light box., filters and cleaning pens.I think I need a larger bag with all the new equipment I'm constantly picking up.Feedback
Always push yourself to do better, if the moment feels right go for it. You are only going to achieve greatness within yourself if you keep moving forward. You will learn as you go, take some courses if needed but I believe to achieve the highest level of self worth in photography is self taught, it comes from within.
