Location
This photo was taken while I was traveling to on-route to White Rann (Rann of Kutch, Kutch, Gujarat, India). I wanted to share the beauty of this view with others, so I decided to capture this majestic range at that moment. I wanted to be as vivid and complete as my eye perceived the view, so I ended up taking a shot of the whole landscape. The unique thing about this range is that there is temple on top of one of the hills where people go to pray to have their wish come true.Time
It was early noon when I shot the photo. It was sunny .Lighting
When I chose to take this photo, my object was clear. I wanted the photo to be as real as my eyes perceived the landscape. This is hard to achieve than one can imagine. There were 2 things I was interested in getting right. Firstly, the contrast between the fields in the foreground and the main hill range in the background to capture the diverse geography which is so common in India. In fact, the reflection of sunlight in the fields, makes the hill range standout in contrast. Secondly, it was noon and it was bit bright so, I decided to use the shot with a Shutter Speed of 1/1000s.Equipment
This was shot with Canon 1200D with 75mm-300mm lens. I took the photo with manual settings to choose the right amount of focus and sharpness I wanted on the photo. Given that it was noon, there was no need to use flash. However, I fitted the camera lens with a UV filter to reduce the excess brightness that is generally associated with photos taken at this time of the day.Inspiration
I wanted to share with others the beauty of the landscape I perceived. That is what drives me to take photos.Editing
No. I prefer my photos to be natural. In my camera bag
I carry with me, a fully charged spare battery, my Canon 1200D, 18-55mm lens and 75-300mm lens for close and mid ranged shots and also a UV filter.Feedback
Keep any eye on the composition of the landscape you want to shoot and what you want the user to focus. In this case, I chose to capture the contrast of the landscape as well as the majestic range and therefore, the shot. Using UV filter gives you a better control over handling the brightness of the landscape you want capture.
