Location
This photo was taken on the dock at the Low Key Hideaway in Cedar Key Florida on a new moon night in the summer.Time
To get the Milky Way over the image like that it was taken around 10pm.Lighting
The image is a composite of a few images. One exposed for the Milky Way and a few different spark trail shots combined.Equipment
Nikon D750, Gitzo tripod and a vello triggerInspiration
Two things I always wanted to do, grab the Milky Way and spark trails. I was lucky enough to get them both in the same shot.Editing
Yes, plenty and on every images. In this case I used lightroom and photoshop quite a bit to put these together and get the right feel.In my camera bag
My equipment varies a bit depending on what I am shooting of course, but I always have my D750 and my tripod. My lens selection varies, but I like my Rokinon 14mm, Nikon 20mm and my Nikon 28-70mm when doing landscapes and such. I usually have a few ND filters and my trigger along as well.Feedback
There are plenty of tutorials out there for both sparks and milky way, check them out. If you are doing sparks, be very aware of flammable material and if you are not on your own property make sure you have permission (and a fire extinguisher). Also, a good tripod and trigger are a must for these type of images.
