Did you know the dark band between the double bows is called Alexanders Band?

Yes, it is very interesting isn't it. I chase them and have studied them a little bit.

Location
On the road to Corinth Church in Lowndes Missouri.Time
It was in the evening right after a thunderstorm.Lighting
The light was amazing as it sometimes is after a storm. The sky was moody and dark but ground, grass's and gravel on the road were wet and picking a beautiful golden glow from the sun.Equipment
I just used my Fuji Finepix S1. It is just a bridge camera but it takes amazing photo's. I did not use a tripod or anything.Inspiration
I was looking toward the east from my front deck and I saw the rainbow breaking through the clouds. I jumped in Pmo (my suv :) and took off for the higher plains area about 1/2 miles from my house and when I pulled up onto the church road the rainbow was everywhere. It was so beautiful and overwhelming. You could see the double rainbows and the darker area called Alexanders band between the bows. The inside of the rainbow was much lighter than outside and the you can see how misty the right half of the cloud looked inside.Editing
I had the camera set on the adv. button. I did not do hardly any post processing at all. I leveled the photo a little and tweeked the contrast a little bit. I don't even own photo shop or anything. I just used the simple little editing program from Fuji that came with my camera. In my camera bag
I am just an amateur and it is just a bridge camera so I just keep stuff to clean my lens.Feedback
Just go out there and have fun. You don't have to have the most expensive camera and equipment to have fun or even get a great shot. You just have to be there when life happens and have your camera ready. Anticipate... the suspense is a rush.. I do spend a lot of time thinking about taking shots though, and trying to learn as much as I can. The other members on Viewbug who are great photographers have helped me so much in a short time. But mostly, I am enjoying my life taking photo's, meeting new friends here and learning.
